Xarelto 20 Mg Tablets contain the active ingredient Rivaroxaban. It in an anti-coagulant that helps reduce the risk of stroke and blood clots in adults. It does this by preventing the development of harmful blood clots in the legs, brain, heart and lungs.
Who makes Xarelto 20 Mg FC Tablets?
Rivaroxaban is being developed jointly by Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development, L.L.C. and Bayer HealthCare.

Blood Clots are formed by your body to stop bleeding from a cut or injury. They are a vital and fundamental part of the health of your body.
How Xarelto 20 Mg (Rivaroxaban) Works:
Xarelto 20 Mg has an active ingredient; Rivaroxaban, which is an oral anticoagulant. It acts by preventing the formation of blood clots in the body.

How to take Xarelto
Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor.
Taken for Irregular Heartbeat:
If you are taking this drug to prevent strokes and blood clots that may form due to an irregular heartbeat, the dose is usually taken once a day with the evening meal.
Taken to prevent blood clots:
If you are taking this medication to prevent blood clots due to other conditions (such as after knee or hip replacement surgery, during a hospital stay and after discharge, the dose is usually taken once a day.
For adults taking rivaroxaban to treat blood clots, the dose is usually taken twice a day for the first 3 weeks, and then once a day. For children taking rivaroxaban to treat blood clots, the dose is usually taken once a day. If you are taking this medication to lower the risk of blood clots from forming again, the dose is usually taken once a day. Carefully follow your doctor’s directions. mifepristone, other drugs that can cause bleeding/bruising (including antiplatelet drugs such as
clopidogrel
warfarin
enoxaparin
antidepressants
SNRIs such as desvenlafaxine/venlafaxine).
Other medications can affect the removal of rivaroxaban from your body, which may affect how rivaroxaban works. These include; cobicistat, conivaptan, dronedarone, ritonavir, certain azole antifungals (itraconazole, ketoconazole, posaconazole), HIV protease inhibitors (such as lopinavir), rifamycins (such as rifampin), St. John’s wort, drugs used to treat seizures (such as carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital), among others.
Aspirin can increase the risk of bleeding when using Xarelto. However, if your doctor has directed you to take low-dose aspirin for heart attack or stroke prevention (usually 81-162 milligrams a day), you should continue taking it unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. How long should you continue to take Xarelto 20 Mg?
You should take Xarelto 20 Mg as long as you are prescribed it by your Doctor or Healthcare Provider.
Precautions:
Before you begin to take Xarelto 20 Mg tell you Doctor if you are allergic to Rivaroxaban, the main ingredient or if you are allergic to any other medications.
Before taking tell your Doctor if you have any issues involving:
Cancer
Liver disease
Kidney disease
bleeding
Stroke
Artificial heart valves
recent major surgeries
Blood disorder, (anemia, hemophilia or Thrombocytopenia)
Frequent falls
Eye issue
Clotting disorder (Antiphospholipid syndrome)
Hereditary enzyme problems such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption.
It is important that your Doctor and Dentist know you are taking Xarelto especially before any medical or dental procedures.
Xarelto may cause bleeding. Always use great caution from getting cut, injured or bruised by sharp objects such as nail cutters or razors. Use and electric razor and soft toothbrush to avoid bleeding.
Avoid contact sports and if you fall or injure yourself call your Doctor or Healthcare provider immediately. Especially if you hit your head.
Pregnancy and Xarelto
You must tell your Doctor or Healthcare Provider in you are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant.
If you are pregnant, Xarelto should only be taken when absolutely necessary. Speak to your Doctor or Healthcare Provider in regard to all the benefits and risks.
-Breastfeeding
Xarelto can pass into breast milk. Consult your Doctor or Healthcare Provider before breast feeding while taking Xarelto.
Missed Dose:
If you miss a dose of this tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, skip the missed dose if it is close to the time of your next dose. Do not double dose.
