DoxyLab (Doxycycline/Ambroxol) is a respiratory medication. It contains two active ingredients, Doxycycline and Ambroxol. They are an antibiotic and an expectorant. It is used to treat cough which accompanies respiratory disorders. These include asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD).
Asthma is a breathing problem. It occurs when airways narrow, swell, and produce extra mucus this leads to difficulty in breathing.
COPD is a group of lung diseases. These include emphysema (shortness of breath) and chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the lining of your bronchial tubes). These lead to excessive coughing. Coughing occurs as a reflex action in the throat when there is too much mucus.
DoxyLab – Antibiotic and Expectorant
Doxylab Capsule consists of two medicines, namely: Doxycycline 100mg and Ambroxol 7.5mg.
Doxycycline is an antibiotic medicine that stops bacterial growth. As a result, bacterial cells are not able to reproduce and grow.
The second active ingredient is Ambroxol. It is an ‘expectorant’. It breaks up phlegm and excessive mucous. Ambroxol eases breathing in asthma, and COPD patients who have breathing difficulty. Ambroxol has been in use since the late 1970’s.
Uses of DoxyLab (Doxycycline/Ambroxol)
Used in the treatment of:
-pneumonia and bronchitis;
-Urinary tract infections;
-Sexually transmitted diseases;
-rectal infections;
-Some bacterial eye infections such as trachoma
-Severe acne;
-parasitic stomach infections.
What does Doxylab contain?
The active ingredient doxycycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. it also contains Ambroxol.

The most commonly Doxycycline reported side effects may include:
-Nausea. Anorexia, diarrhea, sore tongue and difficulty swallowing

You should not use Doxycycline if you are:
-Allergic to Doxycycline or other tetracycline antibiotics
-Pregnant or are breastfeeding
-Under 12 years of age
-Using other medication that interacts with Doxycycline, including penicillin antibiotics, barbiturates,
Do not take if you have epilepsy,
-Been prescribed anticoagulants
-Taking supplements or vitamins that contain iron preparations, which may reduce the absorption of Doxycycline
How do you take DoxyLab?
You should take DoxyLab once daily with a glass of water. You can take with or without food.
It is best to take at the same time daily. And try not to miss any doses.
What if I miss my dose of Doxylab?
If you miss your dose of Doxylab take as soon as possible. However, if it is close to your next scheduled dose wait and take on schedule. Do not double dose.
